GMO Research acquires ISMS
(Information Security Management System)
certification

GMO Research, Inc. (CEO: Shinichi Hosokawa, hereinafter referred to as GMO Research), an Internet research company in the GMO Internet Group, is pleased to announce that it has obtained certification for the international ISMS (Information Security Management System) standard 'ISO/IEC 27001: 2013' (*1) and the Japanese standard 'JIS Q 27001: 2014' (*2), both of which apply to the entire company, as of Wednesday 25 November 2020.
About ISMS
- ISMS stands for 'Information Security Management System' and is a standard for maintaining information security (confidentiality, integrity and availability). ISMS covers not only technical measures, but also employee education and training and the organisational structures in place.
(*1) An international standard established jointly by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
(*2) 'ISO/IEC 27001:2013', as translated for use in Japan and published as a Japanese standard.
[About the ISMS Certification]

GMO Research's information security management and operation system has now been verified by a third party organisation and obtained ISMS Certification for meeting international standards for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information as defined by the ISMS. GMO Research will continue to manage and operate information security in strict accordance with ISMS processes, so that our customers can use our services with confidence.
